Oil Fire at Santa Fe Springs

Hot oil showered refinery processing equipment, launched a fireball into the sky and set the Powerine Oil Co. refinery in Santa Fe Springs ablaze today, but only three minor injuries were reported.
Firefighters from Los Angeles County and four nearby cities used high-pressure hoses and foam to bring the volatile fire under control, but hot crude oil continued leaking and firefighters were concerned about the blaze re-igniting, Santa Fe Springs Fire Chief Robert Wilson said.
