An 8-year-old girl who was attacked by a lion at a Houston flea market underwent a second series of operations to repair extensive skull damage. Dr. Michael E. Miner, professor and director of neurosurgery at the University of Texas Medical School, said Roxanne Hernandez suffered multiple brain damage in the attack Saturday. He said the girl was able to respond to her parents although her father, Joel, described her as dazed. The lion was being led on a chain by its owner, Gary Durkovitz of Houston, when it attacked the girl, police Lt. C. W. Driskell said.
