Local News in Brief : 3 Charged With Fraud
A former defense-contract clerk has been indicted with two others on charges she reprogrammed a computer to obtain a $9.5-million government check intended for a subcontractor.
Eunice Williams, 41, of Memphis, Tenn., a former customer relations clerk at Defense Contract Administration Services Region in El Segundo, was arrested in Tennessee on Friday on a federal grand jury indictment that was returned Thursday.
Barbara Coleman, 55, of Los Angeles, and Wallace Medeiros, 65, of Bellingham, Wash., were also named in the eight-count indictment. They are charged with conspiracy, making and receiving false government securities, fraudulent use of a government computer, stealing money from the United States and mail fraud.
