An 89-year-old San Francisco man, who fell in his bathtub and was trapped for 24 hours, developed a powerful thirst--for a slug of whiskey. Bob Costello was rescued by a crew attempting to deliver voting machines to his home, a polling place in Tuesday’s election, officials said. A deputy registrar of voters delivering the machines heard muffled cries from the house and climbed up a drain pipe to the bathroom to rescue Costello, officials said. After he was wrapped in a blanket, Costello “asked for a shot of Old Granddad whiskey,” rescuer Bob Vidosh said. Costello apparently suffered no serious injuries, Vidosh said.
