Santa Clara County Supervisor Thomas L. Legan surrendered to San Jose police on a felony charge that he molested his oldest daughter when she was 12, nearly six years ago. Legan was released after he posted $15,000 bail. Legan, 44, a West Point graduate and supervisor since 1982, said, “. . . I am innocent and for me to back off from a vicious character assassination such as this would be a grave mistake. I expect to be completely vindicated.”
