Loyola, CS Long Beach Shoot It Out Today
Loyola Marymount and Cal State Long Beach, two high-scoring basketball teams, will meet today at 2 p.m. in a nonleague game at the 49er gym.
Four Loyola starters and three Long Beach starters are shooting 56% or higher.
The 49ers, 3-1 after an 85-66 victory over USC Wednesday night, average 88.8 points a game. The Lions (3-2), who lost to Oregon State, 84-69, the same night, are averaging 99.6.
Guard Morlon Wiley leads the 49ers with an 18.8-point average. The top Lions are center Hank Gathers (21.8 point-average) and guard Corey Gaines (21.4).
