“Bold Steps.” Home Vision. $39.95. Made in 1984, this rambling documentary about National Ballet of Canada celebrates Erik Bruhn’s brief directorship (he died in 1986) with facts that are no longer true--along with hype that was never true. The most reliable footage summarizes the career of founder Celia Franca and the history of the company school. Except for snippets of Russian classics, the performance sequences feature dismal modern choreography. Strictly for Torontophiles.
