Passenger Killed When Car Hits Pole
A 46-year-old man was killed in Fallbrook when a car driven by his 69-year-old mother, who was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter, hit a utility pole, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Dennis B. Mac Faden of Ketchum, Idaho, was dead at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.
The accident occurred at 3:45 p.m. Sunday on California 76, near the Bonsall bridge, when Moya Louise Mac Faden fell asleep at the wheel while traveling about 45 m.p.h. and crashed into a utility pole, according to the CHP.
Mac Faden was not injured, but her 31-year-old daughter, KarreyMac Faden, was taken by Life Flight to Palomar Hospital. She was in stable condition Monday in the intensive care unit with possible neck injuries, according to a hospital spokesman.
