A 9-year-old San Juan Capistrano boy, Tony Aliengena, plans to take off Tuesday from John Wayne Airport in an attempt to become the youngest person ever to fly across the United States. The current record holder, Christopher Lee Marshall, was 10 when he made his flight.

Earlier this month, Tony became the youngest person ever to fly solo when he took off in an ultra-light aircraft from Oceanside Municipal Airport. He was 9 years and 295 days old when he made the flight--just beating the previous age record of 9 years, 316 days.
