Dale Ellis scored 27 points and rookie Derrick McKey added a season-high 19 Saturday night as the Seattle SuperSonics posted their biggest margin of victory this season, a 131-98 rout of the Clippers.

Ken Norman scored 22 points and Claude Gregory had a career-high 21, but they weren’t nearly enough to prevent the Clippers from losing their 27th consecutive road game. The Clippers are 2-31 on the road and 14-53 overall, the worst record in the NBA.

Los Angeles played without starters Benoit Benjamin (bronchitis), Mike Woodson (stomach virus) and Michael Cage (sore hamstring), and they also were missing rookies Reggie Williams and Joe Wolf, both out with sprained knees.

The Clippers actually led, 43-41, on Gregory’s 18-foot jumper with 5:09 left in the first half. But Ellis scored eight points in the next 2 1/2 minutes during a 14-2 run that gave Seattle a 55-45 lead. It was 63-53 at halftime.

The Clippers made only 21 of their 46 foul shots.
