Local News in Brief : County
For the second time in four days, a fire flared up on Bernardo Mountain west of Lake Hodges, foresters said.
Tuesday’s blaze, which burned about 75 acres, started around 1:30 a.m., when embers from last Friday’s fire were rekindled, California Department of Forestry spokesman Chris Hess said.
It took more than 150 firefighters from the Forestry Department and San Diego and Escondido departments 17 hours to contain the blaze, Hess said.
The fire did not spread to any homes in the Lake Hodges area, and no injuries were reported.
