Conrad Honored for Cartoons on North Testimony

Times editorial cartoonist Paul Conrad has won a distinguished service award from Sigma Delta Chi, the professional journalism society, for cartoons on Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North’s testimony before Congress on the Iran-Contra affair.

Conrad, recipient of six of these awards, has been honored by the society more than any other journalist.

KNX-AM radio in Los Angeles won for radio spot-news reporting with its coverage of last October’s earthquake and aftershocks.
