A group of Hong Kong businessmen led by Li Ka-shing, chairman of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd., is bidding for the 21-acre Expo ’86 site at Vancouver, British Columbia.

Cheung Kong director Albert Chow told reporters that Li and Lee Shau Kee, chairman of Henderson Land Development Co. Ltd., and Cheng Yu Tung, chairman of New World Development Co. Ltd., will personally participate.

He declined to quantify the bid but said that Li has a more than 50% share of the consortium that has been negotiating the deal with the British Columbia government.
