Police Storm Captured Ambulance, Foil Escape

NASHVILLE, Tenn. —
Two convicted murderers commandeered an ambulance Wednesday and held a prison guard and three medical workers hostage, but police stormed the vehicle after two of the hostages bolted and the other two escaped unharmed.
The two inmates were recaptured and returned to the Tennessee State Penitentiary, police said. Edward Corley, 35, and Jerry Lynn Driver, 22, face charges of escape, aggravated kidnaping and aggravated assault, authorities said.
