Share

Barbara Fagins, a La Palma woman who has been active in a program to rehabilitate juvenile delinquents, has been appointed to a vacancy on the Buena Park School District Board of Trustees.

Fagins, 42, fills the vacancy created by the resignation in February of Loretta Larson. Larson, whose elected term extended until 1991, said she was resigning because of the demands of her private business.

The remaining four members on the five-member school board this week appointed Fagins to fill the seat until November, 1989, when an election will be held to fill the final two years.

Fagins is manager of Pacific Bell’s Southern California Employee Career Centers. Her outside interests, she said, include helping a charitable group, the Industry Education Council of California, in teaching wards of the court and other jailed juveniles.

“We work to teach them employability skills,” she said.

Fagins is also a Sunday School teacher and choir member at Crossroads Community Church in Westminster. She and her husband, Albert, have seven children.
