Bill Westphal, the Occidental basketball coach who was named last month to coach the Vancouver Nighthawks of the World Basketball League during his off-season, resigned his new position for “personal and legal” reasons. Westphal was to have opened training camp Wednesday.
“I’m depressed because I was all geared up and excited about coming to Vancouver,” Westphal said. “My bags were packed, and I was ready to go. The WBL season starts in May.
