Assessing Dukakis, Bush and Jackson
According to a recent national poll, 28% of those who voted for Reagan in 1984 now plan to vote for a Democrat.
Reaganites in large numbers have consulted their “horrorscopes,” and recognize to their horror that when their man leaves the White House, he will be leaving the country in a horrible mess.
In a desperate effort to save face, and right-wing causes, they want a Democrat--any Democrat--to be the next President.
Liberal Democrats and Independents should vote for Bush. His loyalty to Reagan should be rewarded. He deserves to be given the Gipper’s ball, and continue to carry it backward to the dim candlelight at the other end of the tunnel.
