Six Split Lotto Payoff

SACRAMENTO —
A $5.4-million top prize in the California lottery’s “Lotto 6-49” game was split into a half-dozen pieces, as six contestants selected winning tickets, authorities said today.
The six-way split resulted in the smallest per-player payoff of top prize money since the lotto game began, a lottery spokesman said.
