QPSX Communications Inc. said that it and Bell Atlantic Corp. will test early next year the Australian QPSX system that allows high-speed transmission of voice, data and graphics.

The Queued Packet and Synchronous Exchange system will be tested in Pennsylvania. The technology, invented at the University of Western Australia, allows high-speed, integrated transmission of voice, data and graphics.

Bell Atlantic’s Bell of Pennsylvania unit will link several customer locations with fiber optic lines for use in the test of the system by a “major business customer” in the Philadelphia area, according to QPSX, a joint venture of the university and Telecom Australia.
