Eastern Airlines’ unions plan to file a lawsuit in federal court in Washington to block the sale of its Northeast shuttle to developer Donald J. Trump. James Linsey, attorney for the Air Line Pilots Assn., charged that the sale is a “blatant violation of the Railway Labor Act.” Eastern’s parent company, Texas Air Corp., agreed to sell the shuttle for $365 million. Under the railway labor law, which governs airlines, no substantial changes can be made by either management or unions while contract bargaining with a mediator is under way. Eastern has been in long, fruitless talks with the machinists union.
