‘Genocide as a Political Science’
Roth makes a leap in logic which is unsupported by any facts. He writes that “the ultimate significance of Kristallnacht was that it hastened the approach to Auschwitz” and that the Palestinians “are being forced into a tragic part too much like the one played by the European Jews 50 years ago.”
Although extremist proposals of “transfer” of Palestinians are obnoxious, to link such proposals with the gas chambers of Auschwitz is to make a connection which has no basis in any of the writings or utterances of the extremists, besides also defying all the values and traditions of Judaism. Roth’s article makes one wonder how well he truly knows the country he claims to love deeply.
