Local News in Brief : County : Bus Agency for Frail Gets New Director
Gregory T. Winterbottom has been named executive director of the Consolidated Transportation Service Agency, a county bus agency that serves the frail elderly and disabled.
Winterbottom, 41, is a paraplegic confined to a wheelchair.
He has been serving as the agency’s acting director for several months after the death of his predecessor, Tom Dolan.
Before joining the agency, Winterbottom was a management consultant; served as an agency board member, and unsuccessfully challenged Orange County Recorder Lee A. Branch in the November, 1986 election. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Southern California.
The agency has a fleet of 71 vehicles, all equipped for wheelchair riders, and a staff of 100 people. It is housed in the Regional Transportation Center, above the Amtrak station in Santa Ana.
Winterbottom’s salary was $5,000 per month as acting director.
