Tropical Storm Hits Mexico
From Times Wire Services
MEXICO CITY —
Tropical Storm Keith hit Mexico’s Caribbean coast today but caused no major damage or injuries, local officials said.
A Red Cross spokesman in the resort town of Cancun on the Yucatan Peninsula said the storm passed over the city early this morning with winds of 66 m.p.h. He said there was minor flooding in neighborhoods nearest the coast. Forecasters predicted that a cold front would tug the storm across the Gulf of Mexico to central Florida’s west coast by Thanksgiving.
