Chevron Corp. of San Francisco named a vice president, Edwin R. Lowry, 60, to its eight-member executive committee. The company also promoted Malcolm J. McAuley, 51, to secretary from assistant secretary, replacing Donald N. Maytum, who is retiring after a 40-year career with the firm.
