A division of Teledyne Industries Inc. has agreed to pay the government $330,524 and adjust nearly $1 million in accounting entries in its books to settle government claims that the firm mischarged the Air Force and Navy. The alleged mischarging was discovered in two audits by the Defense Contract Audit Agency on practices relating to the charging of labor costs to indirect accounts between 1983 and mid-1986, said Assistant Atty. Gen. John Bolton, chief of the Justice Department’s civil division. He said some employees of Teledyne’s Research Engineering and Design Engineering departments charged to corporate overhead engineering work on contracts for developing improved gas turbine engines.
