A Santa Barbara woman who was in a light plane that crashed near the top of snowbound Mt. Baldy, killing her two companions, probably would have frozen to death if she had not stuffed blankets into a broken window and if snow had not helped insulate the craft during her 16-hour ordeal, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Sgt. Vic Brimmer said. Jody Pierce, 25, was in serious condition at a Pasadena hospital with multiple fractures. The dead were identified as John Clevenger, 41, of Boulder, Colo., and his wife, Vicki, 34.
