The still-spry dancing Nicholas Brothers, who performed an acrobatic tap routine in the 1943 film “Stormy Weather,” were honored Sunday at the 16th annual Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame ceremony in Oakland. Harold and Fayard Nicholas got a standing ovation for an impromptu tap routine after a clip of the movie was shown during the event. Choreographer Alvin Ailey received the Paul Robeson Medal for outstanding achievement in theater arts. Debbie Allen and Gregory Hines co-hosted the ceremony.
