LOCAL : 3 Santa Ana Men Held in Ida. Robbery
Three Santa Ana men, reputedly members of a Vietnamese gang known as the “Santa Ana Boys,” were arrested late Monday for the brutal robbery of a Boise, Ida., community center, during which a woman was repeatedly pistol-whipped.
Hien Thuong Nguyen, 24; Trung Quang Nguyen, 20, and Thanh Ban Nguyen, 26, who are not related, are suspects in a June 17 robbery which netted $29,000 in cash and jewelry. The three men were arrested in Santa Ana after 11 p.m. Monday by Westminster and Boise investigators, Westminster police spokesman Tom Broderson said.
During the robbery a 48-year-old woman was beaten to force her to reveal the location of additional jewelry. An extradition warrant has been issued, and the suspects are being held in Orange County Jail.
