SAN DIEGO
Police arrested a San Diego man Friday in connection with the beating death a day earlier of a 57-year-old Clairemont man, authorities said.
Thomas F. McAvin, 26, of the 7700 block of Stalmer Street was taken into custody at his home without incident, said police spokesman Bill Robinson. He was wanted in connection with the death Thursday of Archie Dean Rose outside a bar in Clairemont, Robinson said.
Rose, who lived on the 4700 block of Seaford Place in Clairemont, was found dead on a walkway leading to a bar in the 6100 block of Balboa Avenue, Robinson said. Rose had suffered severe head injuries, Robinson said. He had argued earlier in the evening with a man inside the bar.
