Life Without KFAC: When Rock Rolls Over Bach
Re “Life Without KFAC,” David Colker’s Aug. 27 article about Los Angeles’ only commercial classical radio station changing to a rock format:
Not only does Bakersfield have a 24-hour commercial classical station, KIWI (as Colker pointed out), but it also enjoys public station KVPR, Fresno, which plays much classical music.
The level of culture in Bakersfield and the Central Valley is higher than is sometimes recognized, so I will refrain from cracking a tasteless joke about Los Angeles provincialism.
