Commercial Scene : State Leases Mid-Wilshire Offices for L.A. Divisions
In a pair of transactions that rank among the largest high-rise lease commitments in the mid-Wilshire region during the past 10 years, the state will house several of its Los Angeles divisions in a total of 232,000 square feet in two locations.
State divisions, including the Department of Insurance, will occupy 134,000 square feet in the Central Plaza office complex at 3440-70 Wilshire Blvd., through a two-year lease valued at $4.6 million, and the state Department of Corporations will occupy 98,000 square feet at 3700 Wilshire Blvd., through a five-year lease valued at about $5.6 million.
Grubb & Ellis represented the state in both deals, while Merit Real Estate represented Bechtel Properties in the 3700 Wilshire transaction, and Heitman Properties represented itself in the Central Plaza negotiations.
