Citrus 27, Antelope Valley 10--Antelope Valley outgained Citrus, 346 total yards to 281, but committed seven turnovers in the Foothill League opener for both teams at Lancaster.
Citrus (1-2) ran off 20 unanswered points after Antelope Valley (1-2) had taken a 3-0 lead on John Ford’s 26-yard field goal.
Antelope Valley running back Jerald Mitchell rushed for 63 yards in 17 carries and one touchdown. Quarterback Mike Dalley completed nine of 25 passes for 135 yards but threw three interceptions.
Backup quarterback Cole Speer also threw an interception and both quarterbacks each lost one fumble.
