Carter Hawley Hale Stores Inc. has named Gregory C. Crews, president of the Weinstocks division, to the additional post of chief executive. Crews succeeds Cheryl Nido Turpin, who is leaving the company after a successful career at both The Broadway-Southern California and Weinstocks, which is in Sacramento. The chairman’s position at the division will not be filled. Crews was named president in September after having served as president and chief executive of Carter Hawley Hale’s Market Services division since 1985.
