Aparking attendant was shot to death while trying to prevent a robbery at the restaurant where he worked, Los Angeles police said Saturday.

The attendant, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, was trying to stop two men from robbing the Queso Grande Cantina in the 8400 block of Reseda Boulevard, said Officer Susan Clemer.

About 30 customers were inside the restaurant about 11:40 p.m. Friday when the robbers entered, Clemer said. One of the men went behind the bar and took money from the cash register while the other took a female customer’s purse, she said.
