CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SACRAMENTO : Eu to Pay Fine for Election Violations
Secretary of State March Fong Eu said she has agreed to pay an $8,000 fine for failing to properly report some contributions and expenditures during her 1986 reelection campaign. The fine is part of a proposed agreement with the state Fair Political Practices Commission resulting from an FPPC audit of her campaign finances. FPPC documents said Eu should have been aware of the reporting requirements, but added that the amounts were relatively small and that she adhered to most of the requirements. Eu failed to report 10 contributions totaling $11,450.
