Pacific Scientific CEO Adds 3rd Title

Paciffic Scientific Co. said Friday that its president and chief executive officer, Edgar S. Brower, has assumed the additional title of chairman.

Brower replaces Harry R. Goff, who retired Wednesday at the Newport Beach-based company’s annual meeting.

Brower, 59, joined the company as president and director in June, 1985, and was named chief executive officer in December, 1985.

Before joining Pacific Scientific, Brower was corporate group vice president at Allied-Signal Corp. and president of Allied Electronic Components Co. From 1972 to 1977, Brower was assistant postmaster general of the United States.

The company also elected Ronald B. Nelson and Charles L. Perry as corporate vice presidents, and John C. Dieckman as a board member.

Pacific Scientific makes electric motors and other industrial products, and fire detection and suppression systems for the aerospace industry.
