MAGNESIUM MILKMEN: Parody is in safe hands with the Dead Milkmen. The band’s new album, “Metaphysical Graffiti,” not only spoofs the famed Led Zep album but features a cheeky spoof of “Physical Graffiti’s” multi-windowed house album cover. The new record also offers a spirited attack on Yes (titled “Anderson, Walkman . . . and How!”) and a song that offers a stinging rebuke of a certain pop star’s romantic advice (“If You Love Somebody, Set Them on Fire”). Other tunes include “In Praise of Sha Na Na,” “I Hate You, I Love You” and “Methodist Coloring Book,” which inspired a Milkmen comic book (now available through the band’s fan club). . . . If you’ve been looking for the big hip-hop tour of the summer, the buck stops here: Public Enemy will hit the road June 28 in Richmond, Va., for a Black Planet Tour featuring Heavy D. & the Boyz, Digital Underground, Kid & Play and En Vogue. An L.A. stop is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 26. . . . And we’re saddened to hear that our fave local bad-boys Thelonious Monster have called it quits. But we’re happy to report that a newly sober Bob Forrest is back--after a successful stay in detox--with a solo deal at RCA Records. Forrest says he and producer Al Kooper are working with the likes of Tom Petty hands Stan Lynch and Benmont Tench and Masters of Reality hotshot Chris Goss. Forrest will make a rare appearance at McCabe’s on Saturday, where he’ll be backed by Mary’s Danish.
