Westinghouse Electric Corp.: The Pittsburgh-based conglomerate said its second-quarter income jumped 11% to a record $252 million. Revenue was essentially flat at $3.2 billion. The company, whose businesses include electronics, communications and financial services, said greater attention to cost containment helped boost profit margins.
