Pipeline Pollution Resolved: Alyeska Pipeline Service Co., which operates the Trans-Alaska oil pipeline, has corrected air pollution violations charged by the Environmental Protection Agency, the EPA said in a letter to Alyeska. It said an agreement between Alyeska and the state of Alaska would also satisfy the federal agency’s concerns. Settlement came after Alyeska threatened to shut down the 800-mile pipeline last Thursday.
