What films would you like to see on television?

This week’s cover story in TV Times is about the channels--mostly cable--that air classic, foreign or art films on television. One of the most popular on the Bravo Channel is “A Face in the Crowd” (with Lee Remick and Andy Griffith, above). What films what you like to see uncut on television?

Here are the responses to the July 8 question: Will you watch “The Cosby Show” or “The Simpsons” this fall?

I’m going to watch “Cosby” this fall because it’s a family show. I can watch it with my 3-year-old daughter and we both love it.

I also don’t believe in smart-mouth kids being funny. I think “The Simpsons” (much like “Married . . . With Children”) is a low-quality show. If it’s the most popular show on Fox, I can’t imagine the future of television.

Of course I’ll watch “The Simpsons.” “The Cosby Show” is so corny and homogenized. It’s gotten much too boring. There is no way the two programs can be compared to each other.

I suppose “Cosby” is fine for parents who would like some family humor, but for the rest of us who do not have children to be concerned about “The Simpsons” is the best. As Rolling Stone magazine said, “The Simpsons” really are “the only real family on TV.”

We definitely will watch “The Cosby Show.” It is the best show ever on TV and should not be in the same class with those silly, inane Simpsons. That show should be taken off the air.

I will watch “The Simpsons,” which is funny, entertaining and original. For about the last year-and-a-half, “The Cosby Show” has been fake.

“The Simpsons” is the best comedy show television has to offer to its adult viewers. I sometimes have 10 to 15 people watching it in my room at college. However, that sort of crowd is never found when “Cosby” airs. To answer your question, please cast my vote for “The Simpsons.” After all these days, we all need a laugh or two!
