Spy Charges Upheld on S. Korea Lawmaker

SEOUL, Korea —
South Korea’s supreme court rejected appeals by a dissident lawmaker Friday and upheld espionage charges against him and a 10-year prison sentence.
The court ruled that Suh Kyung-won was guilty of espionage by leaking state secrets during his trip to communist North Korea. Suh had claimed that security officials forced him to make false confessions
