P.M. BRIEFING : Ford to Recall Trucks and Vans

DETROIT —
Ford Motor Co. announced today recalls involving about 14,500 Aerostar vans and 18,000 ‘L’ series heavy-duty trucks, all from the 1989 and 1990 model years.
The Aerostar recall concerns vans equipped with the optional “Quad Captain’s Chairs” to replace a latch assembly on the second-row, passenger-side seat. Ford said the seat may unlatch during an accident.
Ford is also recalling the 18,000 ‘L’ series heavy trucks to replace a valve within the air brake system.
