CHANNEL ISLANDS HARBOR MARITIME DAYS

Share

Teams of locals including the Chowderettes, the Cape Clods, and Captain Lee and his Mates will compete in this morning’s Chowder Cook-off at Channel Islands Harbor. The competition is part of this weekend’s Maritime Days celebration of the 25th anniversary of the harbor’s dedication.

The fourth annual cook-off, which begins at 10 a.m., is a fierce competition in which teams dress in costumes and loudly insult their competitors, said Sharon Gable, spokeswoman for the Harbor Assn. of Lessees, sponsor of the festival. Winners will be announced at noon.
