From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports

Former FBI Agent Richard Miller was found guilty of espionage for a second time by a federal judge who today rejected the agent’s claim that he romanced a Soviet agent in the interest of the United States.

U.S. District Judge Robert Takasugi, who presided over Millers’ retrial without a jury, said he concluded that Miller once intended to use his relationship with the Soviet woman, Svetlana Ogorodnikov, to enhance his position with the FBI by becoming a double agent.

But he said that after Ogorodnikov enticed Miller with money and sex, the agent yielded to her demands for classified information.
