Pacific Gas & Electric Co.: Third-quarter earnings for the San Francisco-based utility were $394.2 million, up 24% over the same quarter of 1989. Revenue was $2.6 billion, up 17% over the third quarter of last year. The company said the results were due to an “excellent performance” by the utility business and its Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant.
