More Rapes Charged in ‘Messenger of Lord’ Case
A 28-year-old graduate student who police believe is the so-called “Messenger of the Lord” rapist has been charged with six additional counts of sexual assault involving two more victims.
Joseph Brian Socha had been charged earlier this month with a string of attacks in Long Beach and San Pedro that occurred between August and September. Socha now faces a total of 24 counts of robbery, kidnaping and sexual assault involving six women. His arraignment is set for Wednesday in Long Beach.
The new charges, filed last week, involve attacks that occurred in August before the previously reported attacks. One of the victims was assaulted in Inglewood, the other in Long Beach.
