Beverly Hills : Carnival in Park Planned
Elephant rides, games, music and home-baked goodies will be featured Sunday at a Day in the Park, a fund-raiser for the Beverly Hills schools.
The annual carnival, organized by the Beverly Hills Education Foundation, has raised about $100,000 in past years. The nonprofit foundation has pledged $350,000 to the Beverly Hills Unified School District this academic year.
The event begins at 9 a.m. with an obstacle-course run at the upper field of Beverly Hills High School. Students must have collected $15 in sponsorships to participate. Part of the money raised is earmarked for classroom supplies.
The carnival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Roxbury Park, Roxbury Drive and Olympic Boulevard. Parking is available at the high school, with a free shuttle to and from the park. For more information, call 557-0651.
