COLLEGE SIGNINGS : Rancho Santiago Pair Pick Cincinnati; Brundage Headed to UCLA
Corie Blount and Erik Martin, starters for the Rancho Santiago College basketball team, have signed letters of intent to attend the University of Cincinnati, Rancho Santiago officials announced Thursday.
Blount, a 6-foot-9 forward from Monrovia High School, was an all-Orange Empire Conference player last season, averaging 13.9 points and 8.2 rebounds and helping the Dons to the state title. He set a school single-game record for rebounds with 21 against Palomar.
Martin is in his first season with the Dons. The 6-foot-6 1/2 forward from Whittier Christian High School played at Texas Christian in 1988 and was a redshirt there last season.
Cincinnati, which is beginning its final season in the Metro Conference, was 20-14 last season under Bob Huggins, its first-year coach.
