J. Don Langston has been appointed chairman of the board of Fortune Petroleum Corp., an oiland gas exploration and production company based in Agoura Hills.

Langston, who has 40 years experience in the petroleum industry, was formerly vice president of exploration for Exxon U. S. A., where he was responsible for an annual exploration budget of more than $1 billion. More than 2 billion barrels of oil and 10 trillion cubic feet ofgas were discovered under his direction during eight years with Exxon, Fortune said.
