Cow Hormone Gets Another Endorsement: A report by the Office of Technology Assessment, a congressional arm, said a genetically engineered hormone that increases a cow’s milk production does not pose a risk to human or animal health. The safety finding on bovine somatotropin echoes others by governmental agencies; however, the Food and Drug Administration has yet to approve the controversial product for commercial use.
